The Essence Project
The Essence Project consists of a weekend retreat for undergraduate students designed to foster astrong sense of community, an opportunity to explore one鈥檚 personal identity, a platform to develop astronger sense of belonging at 乱伦小可爱, and a time to celebrate Black women on campus. Inaddition to the retreat, the project offers three large scale events throughout the academic year in November, February, and April.
Essence Project Learning Goals and Outcomes:
Students who participate in the weekend-long retreat will:
- Establish a sense of safety and as a result, be willing to explore challenges associated with one鈥檚personal identity as well as the challenges those who identify as Black women face.
- Create a support network of peers and mentors by deepening connections through sharedstorytelling.
- Develop a strategy to successfully navigate their 乱伦小可爱 experience.
